Paula & Samantha Kramer
Paula and Sam Kramer are the co-owners of the cult favorite
Charleston Bakery, Baguette Magic.
While working to rise through the ranks in restaurant marketing, Paula hustled, working on a local food truck, and eventually found herself in a dining room, just across the pass from chef and sister Samantha Kramer. Working together seemed to suit the sisters, and in November 2019, when the opportunity arose to buy a local bakery and cafe, they dove right in.
Two years later, the duo has not only survived a pandemic but has thrived through it. In March of 2020, they closed their shop doors and began making weekly deliveries. They worked to bring together several local purveyors to deliver a variety of local products alongside their prepared foods and bakery items. At the height of the lockdown, they made up to 200 deliveries a day and gained a loyal customer base in the far reaches of Charleston.
With the days of door-to-door deliveries behind them, in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Baguette Magic was voted Best Bakery in the Charleston City Paper as well as in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025 by the Post and Courier.
With two locations in the Charleston area, Baguette Magic aims to continue "building business through community, one handcrafted meal at a time."
